when the thoughts frighten and become fears
disconnect-to-reconnect

when the emotions overwhelm and become tears

when the grays darken and become blues

when the highs spiral and become lows

at every twist and every turn
when trials cause you heartburn
when the heart becomes indecisive
and, answers are all you seek

disconnect from your realm
reconnect with your soul 

your mind will feel empowered
and, your faith will be restored

after a year of stress
we ended with a strain
the carefree life we once lived
we will never find it again

the year seemed long, but
it left us strong
through every hit and fall
we emerged out tall
the normal way of living
had to be redefined
a new normal has now been
ingrained in our mind
we no longer fear
practicality is our gear
the statistics are only numbers
they no more rip us asunder

with hope as our armor, and
belief restored
we move in confident strides
having faith in the guiding light 

et sic incipit
and, so it begins...

Enlivened

the set of events
that unfolded
had triggered
the unwarranted
first...
she lost her sleep, and
then the tears
eventually, the edginess
and turmoil took over 

it took the quietness
and, nothingness
of several nights
to set things clear
in lucid light
faith restored
reignited her spark
it enlivened her soul
it enlivened her heart

The Game Is Set...

a ravaged heart
beautiful and violent
engulfed in a raging fire
pining, craving and longing
for her elegy to be heard
but there is no one around

the game is set, but
she is not ready...

she has to fight
the fears gripping her
the demons tormenting her
weave the torn fabric 
heal the scalds, while 
letting the scars be

the game is set, now
she is poised...

to take controls
fortified with faith
armed with hope
her heart is ready
ready to blossom
ready to fly
ready to face 
the challenges of life

the game is set, and 
so is she

Undying HOPE...

when they first crossed their paths

they knew that they had given each other

a special place in their hearts

from strangers to friends, their journey was short

for their bonding was strong, right from the start!!

he made her feel special

and called her an angel

she helped him realize his dreams

and gave him back his self-esteem

though they talked endlessly, they never met

yet, this was something they never regretted

till, one fine day...

when he disappeared from her life

without uttering any good byes

just as he had come, he had gone away

leaving her wondering what led things astray

she cried n' cried over the void he had left

she found no answers n' moved on bereft!!

years passed and, again, one day...

he returned as if he had never gone away

she asked nothing and accepted him back

and together they continued the journey of life

he set the child-woman in her free

all he craved for was her company

together, they dreamt new dreams

and this time around, they promised to meet

but this was not how it was meant to be

such cruel was their destiny!!

time compelled them to travel different paths

even when they yearned for each other

they were forced to live, anonymously, apart

she did not know what to make of her strife

whether to accept him as an anam cara

or a traveler in her life?

for what had happened once had recurred, again

and deep in her heart she was numbed with pain

yet, she longed for him to come around

so, she kept her faith alive and her will strong

she prayed that when they meet again

which she hoped that they will

all that was there, would be there still...

Emotional Scars

scars get inflicted in all walks of life
while some are external n' heal with time
it's the emotional ones that leave their mark
n' remain etched, dark n' deep in our minds!

these scars're hidden n' do not 've any visible form
torn, deranged n' fragmented are how they exist
they're caused when the heart is pierced n' bleeds
for the free flow of mental trauma refuses to cease!

a surge of emotions wreath around such scars
making one a wreck trapped within oneself
faltering faith, broken heart, shattered hopes
depression envelopes as they erupt like tropes!

emotional scars are scathed within n' do not show
akin to the deep wounds that do not heal
it's seldom that one can really feel n' see
what the one with the emotional pain deeply feels!

Circle of Life

From the infinitesimal speck of moment,

when we are formed in an act of unision

of two souls embalmed in love

to the time we step in this world

we are protected in the safe haven of a womb

where we grow n' live a carefully nurtured life.

From hereon, in the midst of all expectations, and

boundaries set by our creators n' those around us

we embark on a remarkable journey ~

beginnin' by observin' n' understandin'

everythin' around us thru' our own senses

with the hand holding done by our protectors

obedient at first, rebellious later,

as we mature n' become consciously aware

of all that this universal nature unveils

before us to comprehend n' imbue what we want to.

From the various sojourns that we undertake

we experience the rise to unprecendented heights

or see us fallin' weak wayside, scathed, hurt

reboundin' at times wisened enough, to sail thru'

once again the high n' lows of this mystical life

that graviates us each time into its fold

be it with hope, faith, chaos, conflict,

love, loss, reality, success or gratitude

it's a vicious rigmarole of all elements

that lets us imbibe from the choices we make

in our expedition, to define the "I".

Enroute, most of us, even create a new life

just like how we arrived, givin' it our all

passin' on our refined learnings n' wisdom

yet, lettin' the new life take its own course

just like how we did when we were them

remaining resilient n' prayin' from deep within

that they get the best of everythin'.

Change which is the only constant factor in Life

forever keeps us on our toes to continually discover

hidden facets within us, creatin' new dimensions,

with an unwaverin' will n' extended endurance powers,

which we thought never existed within us,

when we think of givin' it all up when at the edge

only to rediscover new aspects of livin' Life

to the fullest, in a realm of our own

when we've found our true callin' within

before the rhytmic beat of our heart stops beatin'

n' we embrace the invincible, inevitable death.

Just like the beautiful seasons of nature

that follow each other in a circle

Such is Life ~

a path unfoldin' the mysteries

that Life beholds for each one of us

in a circle, The Circle of Life..!!
