Rantings of my mind...

for years, I let
the weight of other people's
expectations wear me down
almost everything I did
refracted through judgements
which were not mine
much as I would like to deny
it afflicted my heart and mind

PAUSE

it took me long to learn
to burn the bridges
not meant for me
and, love the footprints of my feet
walking away into a newfound
rainbow of credence and ecstasy
